Centro Cultural Aztlan presents:

Indigenous Jaguar Spirits from the Yucatan

New Paintings by Andy Villarreal

Opening Reception:  Friday April 8, 2016

Andy A. Villarreal.smIndigenous Jaguar Spirits from the Yucatan is the latest exhibition of paintings by Andy A. Villarreal that opens on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 6:00 pm at Centro Cultural Aztlan with a reception for the artist. His collection of new works depicts his laborious history as a painter and continues to evolve through a lifetime of experiences that combines Indigenous cultures of varying times and places. Andy creates an energetic visual dialog that transforms the viewer into another realm; one that includes history, mythology of signs and symbols from ancient cultures. “My work crosses cultures, portrays the human condition, the struggles, the harmony, the social injustice, and the celebration of life”. Viewers are invited to share in his cultural experiences and draw their own interpretations.

The exhibit is free and open to the public, and will be on view through the end of April.
